Play Style, Play Symbols and determining a Valid Winning Play for MONOPOLY Gold

A Play Number is given to each Play, and this can be found at the top right of the Game Play Window.

At the start of a Play, the Player is presented with the following eight MONOPOLY tokens: a boot, a car, a dog, a hat, an iron, a ship, a thimble and a wheelbarrow. In the middle of these is the instruction: 'Choose your token'. To start a Play, the Player must click on one of the tokens.

Once a token has been selected, the Player is presented with a Game Play Window displaying; a) a bird's eye visual representation of the MONOPOLY board (the 'Board') with the Player's chosen token and Player 2's token positioned on the 'GO' square; b) in the centre of the Board there are the Chance cards, Community Chest cards, the RENT Paid Table and the Dice Roll area for Player 2 (this includes two red dice; a visual representation of Player 2's token and the words 'Their turn'); c) to the right of the Game Play Window are eight rows with graphical or colour representations of the different types of property cards displayed on the Board, each of the rows having an associated monetary amount beneath it (the 'Prize Table'); d) to the bottom right of the Game Play Window are two white dice (the 'Dice') which will be pulsing to prompt the Player to click these, and to the right of the Dice are the words '6 Rolls left' (the 'Rolls Left Indicator'), a visual representation of the Player's token and the words 'Your turn'.

To start a Play, the Player must click on the Dice. On doing so the Dice will rise into the air, spin and land back down displaying the number of squares the Player's token must move. The Player's token will then move around the board, at the same time the pips on the Dice will turn red as the token moves past each square and the Rolls Left Indicator will decrease by one. After each time the Player clicks on the Dice, Player 2's token will move around the Board the number of squares shown on the two red dice in the Dice Roll area on the Board. Once this is complete, the Dice will animate to indicate the Player can click them. On the Player's token landing on a particular square, one of the following will happen:

- On landing on a property square, the relevant property card will zoom into the foreground and then move into the Prize Table, populating each of the areas in the Prize Table that matches that set of properties. A SOLD sign will then appear on the square the Player landed on to indicate that property has been collected. If the Player completes a row in the Prize Table, that row and the prize amount for that row will highlight yellow to indicate that the Player has won that amount.

- On landing on a COMMUNITY CHEST or CHANCE square, the associated card will move from the top of the pile on the Board and zoom into the foreground. The card will contain one of the following instructions:

a) That the Player is to 'Advance' or 'Go Back' to another square. The Player must click on the arrow to return to the main Game. The card will be placed at the bottom of the Community Chest/Chance cards on the Board. The Player's token will move to the relevant square on the Board, and continue the Game from this square. If the square the Player lands on is a Property square, then the relevant property card will zoom into the foreground and then move into the Prize Table, populating each of the areas in the Prize Table that matches that set of properties. A SOLD sign will then appear on the square the Player landed on to indicate that property has been collected.

b) That the Player has won a prize (an 'Instant Prize'). The Player must click on the arrow to return to the main Game. The card will be placed at the bottom of the Community Chest/Chance cards on the Board, and the amount won will appear on the Community Chest/Chance square that the Player has landed on, indicating to the Player that he has won this amount. MONOPOLY money to the value of the Instant Prize will also be placed in the middle of the Board.

- On landing on the FREE PARKING square, the Player is presented with the 'Spin the Cane Mini Game'. A new Game Play Window will open to show four cards representing any of the following: a property card, an 'Advance' or 'Go Back' card, an Instant Prize card, a FREE ROLL card or a card displaying the words 'NO PRIZE'. To the top right of the window is the instruction 'Spin Mr MONOPOLY's cane for your chance to collect a prize.' To the right of the Game Play window is Mr MONOPOLY holding a cane, and below is the instruction 'Click to spin cane'. Once the Player has clicked on Mr MONOPOLY's cane, the cane will spin in the centre of the four cards and then point to one of the four cards and one of the following will happen:

a) If the cane lands on a property card, this indicates that he has collected this property. The Player must click on the arrow to return to the main Game. The collected property will zoom into the foreground and move into the Prize Table. A SOLD sign will then appear on this property to indicate that property has been collected. The Player's token will then continue from the 'FREE PARKING' square.

b) If the cane lands on an 'Advance' or 'Go Back' card, the Player must click on the arrow to return to the main Game, the Player's token will then move to the appropriate square as instructed on the card and continue the Game from this square. If the square the Player lands on is a Property square, then the relevant property card will zoom into the foreground and then move into the Prize Table, populating each of the areas in the Prize Table that matches that set of properties. A SOLD sign will then appear on the square the Player landed on to indicate that property has been collected.

c) If the cane lands on an Instant Prize, the Player must click on the arrow to return to the main Game. The amount won will appear on the 'FREE PARKING' square indicating to the Player that he has won this amount. MONOPOLY money to the value of the Instant Prize will also be placed in the middle of the Board. The Player's token will then continue from the 'FREE PARKING' square.

d) If the cane lands on a FREE ROLL card, the Player must click on the arrow to return to the main Game. A 'FREE ROLL' card will zoom into the foreground in front of the Dice and then move across to cover the Rolls Left Indicator. When the Player next clicks on the Dice, the FREE ROLL card will disappear leaving the Rolls Left Indicator in view. The Player's token will then continue from the 'FREE PARKING' square.

e) If the cane lands on the card displaying the words 'NO PRIZE' this means the Player has not won or collected anything. The Player must click on the arrow to return to the main Game.

- On landing on the 'JUST VISITING' square, the Player is presented with the 'Jail Mini Game'. A new Game Play Window will open showing Mr MONOPOLY behind bars and to the right of Mr MONOPOLY either a property card, an 'Advance' or 'Go Back' card, an Instant Prize card or a FREE ROLL card. In the middle of the Game Play Window the instruction is as follows: 'Roll a double for your chance to collect a prize.' To commence a Play of this Mini Game, the Player must position his cursor over the Dice and click. On doing so the Dice will move into the foreground, spin and land back down. If a double is rolled, the bars in front of the card will move apart and the card will animate to indicate that the Player has collected that card and one of the following will happen:

a) If a property card is displayed, the Player must click on the arrow to return to the main Game. The collected property will zoom into the foreground and move into the Prize Table. A SOLD sign will then appear on this property to indicate that property has been collected. The Player's token will then continue from the 'JUST VISITING/IN JAIL' square.

b) If an 'Advance' or 'Go Back' card is displayed, the Player must click on the arrow to return to the main Game, the Player's token will then move to the appropriate square as instructed on the card and continue the Game from this square. If the square the Player lands on is a Property square, then the relevant property card will zoom into the foreground and then move into the Prize Table, populating each of the areas in the Prize Table that matches that set of properties. A SOLD sign will then appear on the square the Player landed on to indicate that property has been collected.

c) If an Instant Prize card is displayed, the Player must click on the arrow to return to the main Game. The amount won will appear on the 'JUST VISITING/IN JAIL' square indicating to the Player that he has won this amount. MONOPOLY money to the value of the Instant Prize will also be placed in the middle of the Board. The Player's token will then continue from the 'JUST VISITING' square.

d) If a FREE ROLL card is displayed, the Player must click on the arrow to return to the main Game. A 'FREE ROLL' card will zoom into the foreground in front of the Dice and then move across to cover the Rolls Left Indicator. When the Player next clicks on the Dice, the FREE ROLL card disappears leaving the Rolls Left Indicator in view.

- On landing on the 'GO TO JAIL' square, a GO TO JAIL card will zoom into the foreground and the Player's token will move back to the 'IN JAIL/JUST VISITING' square, where the Player is presented with the 'Jail Mini Game' as described above.

- At the start of the Game the Player's playing token is on the GO square. If after going round the Board, the Player's playing token subsequently lands on the 'GO' square, the Player is presented with the 'Reveal Mini Game'. A new Game Play Window will open showing three Mr MONOPOLY's. To the top of the Game Play Window the instruction is as follows: 'Reveal your token for your chance to collect:' Following this instruction there will be a visual representation of one of the following: a property card, an 'Advance' or 'Go Back' card, or an Instant Prize card. The instruction will also contain a visual representation of the Player's token. To commence a Play of this Mini Game, the Player must position his cursor over the hands of one of the Mr MONOPOLY characters and click. On doing so one of the MONOPOLY playing tokens will be revealed. If one of the revealed tokens matches the Player's token, the card and the correctly revealed token will pulse to indicate that the Player has collected that card, any remaining tokens will automatically reveal, and one of the following will happen:

a) If a property card is displayed, the Player must click on the arrow to return to the main Game. The collected property will zoom into the foreground and move into the Prize Table. A SOLD sign will then appear on this property to indicate that property has been collected. The Player's token will then continue from the 'GO' square.

b) If an 'Advance' or 'Go Back' card is displayed, the Player must click on the arrow to return to the main Game, the Player's token will then move to the appropriate square as instructed on the card.

The amount won will appear on the 'GO' square indicating to the Player that he has won this amount. MONOPOLY money to the value of the Instant Prize will also be placed in the middle of the Board.

d) If a FREE ROLL card is displayed, the Player must click on the arrow to return to the main Game. A 'FREE ROLL' card will zoom into the foreground in front of the Dice and then move across to cover the Rolls Left Indicator. When the Player next clicks on the Dice, the FREE ROLL card will disappear leaving the Rolls Left Indicator in view.

- On landing on either the Income Tax or Super Tax square, the Instant Prize card will zoom into the foreground; the Player must click on the arrow to return to the main Game. The amount won will be highlighted yellow on the square the Player has landed on, indicating to the Player that he has won this amount. MONOPOLY money to the value of the Instant Prize will also be placed in the middle of the Board. The Player's token will then continue from the relevant Income Tax or Super Tax square.

- If Player 2's token lands on a property square that is marked as 'SOLD', Player 2 must pay rent and a card with the word "RENT" and the name of the property will be displayed in the RENT Paid Table on the Board. If Player 2's playing token lands on two or more relevant squares that are marked 'SOLD', the Player will win the corresponding monetary amount highlighted yellow in the RENT Paid Table.

During a Play of this Game, if the Player rolls a double, a 'FREE ROLL, ROLL AGAIN' card will zoom into the foreground in front of the Dice and then move across to cover the Rolls Left Indicator. When the Player next clicks on the Dice, the 'FREE ROLL, ROLL AGAIN' card will disappear leaving the Rolls Left Indicator in view.

A Player's Play ends when he has used all his rolls. A Game Over card will appear in the middle of the Board. The Game Over card will turn over and inform the Player of the total amount he has won, if any, and instruct the Player to 'Click FINISH to complete game.'
