These are exciting times for one of the British women thriving on the legacy of double Olympic middle-distance star Dame Kelly Holmes. After finishing fourth in the 1500m at the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008, Dobriskey showed her outstanding ability to win silver at the World Championships in Berlin last summer.
She is based at UK Athletics High Performance Centre at Loughborough University where she is coached by the experienced George Gandy. Her progress to this level is no surprise because it is a gradual climb from her glory as a junior where she won AAA and English Schools title on the track.
In December she married her long-time partner Ricky Soos, a British 800m runner, and has spent the winter mainly preparing for a year where the European Championships in Barcelona in July will be her big focus. She is aiming for Holmes' British 1500m record of 3:57.90 - her best is 3:59.50, and she will make a decision on defending her Commonwealth 1500m title in New Delhi in October nearer the time.
She knows the importance National Lottery players have made to her: "If I had a message for those that play The National Lottery, I have to say a huge 'thank you'."
