Here are some frequently asked questions that will assist you.

Why do you think that I am playing the UK National Lottery from outside the UK and Isle of Man?

The location software we use has identified that you are accessing the National Lottery website from either a connection outside of the UK and Isle of Man or from an unknown connection.

Alternatively, if you are accessing the National Lottery website from a mobile device you may see this message each time you try to play National Lottery games or to sign in to your Account even though you are in the UK or Isle of Man. This will be because your browser does not specify your actual location. However, if you are physically located in the UK or Isle of Man, click the 'Accept' button to continue.

I am outside of the UK and Isle of Man and I want to play National Lottery games online or by text — what should I do?

If you are not physically in the UK or Isle of Man you should not continue.

To play UK National Lottery games online or by text, you must be a resident of the UK or Isle of Man at all times. You must also be physically located in the UK or Isle of Man when buying a ticket or when setting up or amending a Direct Debit Account, including changing your numbers and payment details.

If you do not meet these requirements, any ticket purchases you make will be declared invalid and no prizes paid, and we will have the right to reclaim any prizes already paid under these circumstances.

If you simply want to check your Account and not purchase tickets, please select the 'Accept' button to continue.

If you are travelling for a short period, you can buy your tickets in advance — for up to eight weeks for Lotto and four weeks for EuroMillions.

Alternatively, you may wish to play National Lottery games by Direct Debit. Please note that you must only set up the Account if you are resident in the UK or Isle of Man for the entire duration of your Direct Debt, not just at the time of setting it up. You must also be physically located in the UK or Isle of Man when amending your Direct Debit Account, including buying additional tickets, or changing your numbers or payment details. As long as you only make these changes while you are physically located in the UK or Isle of Man, your tickets will be valid if you travel overseas. You can also play the UK National Lottery with friends and family as part of a syndicate whose Syndicate Manager is located and is playing in the UK or Isle of Man. Camelot provides advice on playing as part of a syndicate.

I am not currently accessing the website from outside of the UK and Isle of Man — how can I continue?

If you are physically located in the UK or Isle of Man, click the 'Accept' button to sign in to your Account or to play National Lottery games. You must also be a resident of the UK or Isle of Man to play games through your Account.

Can I check my Account information from outside of the UK and Isle of Man?

Yes, if you are presented with the 'Accept' button option, you can sign into your Account and check your Account details.

However, please note that, by clicking on the 'Accept' button while you are outside the UK or Isle of Man, you acknowledge and accept that any ticket purchases you make will be declared invalid and no prizes paid, and that we will have the right to reclaim any prizes already paid under these circumstances.
