Back to topWhen will Lotto Plus 5 draws take place?
Lotto Plus 5 draws take place between Lotto draw days - on Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. If you choose to Plus 5 a line of Lotto numbers entered into the main Saturday draw, then your Lotto numbers will be entered into five Lotto Plus 5 draws starting from Sunday onwards (Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday). If you Plus 5 a Wednesday Lotto line, your Lotto numbers will be entered into five Lotto Plus 5 draws starting from Thursday onwards (Thursday, Friday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday). Results for each Lotto Plus 5 draw will be available on the website from around 8pm on the draw night.
Back to topWhen is the first Lotto Plus 5 draw?
Lotto Plus 5 was available for purchase from Thursday 10th February and the first draw took place on Sunday 13th February. Draw results are available on the website from around 8pm.
Back to topWhat happens if I play both Lotto draws in the same week?
Playing both Wednesday and Saturday Lotto draws using the same play slip: If you are playing the same Lotto line in both a Saturday and Wednesday draw by ticking the 'Both' box on your play slip, please note that your Lotto numbers will only be entered into five Lotto Plus 5 draws starting the day after your first Lotto draw. For example, if you buy your ticket on a Tuesday and select to play 'Both' Wednesday and Saturday Lotto draws, your Lotto numbers will only be entered into the five Lotto Plus 5 draws starting from Thursday.
Playing Wednesday and Saturday Lotto draws using two separate play slips: If you choose to purchase separate tickets for both a Wednesday and a Saturday Lotto draw within a seven day period, and you enter Lotto Plus 5 on both of those tickets, you should be aware that you will have a number of days when your Lotto Plus 5 entries will overlap.
For example, if you purchase a line of Lotto numbers for Wednesday and 'Plus 5' them, you will be entered into the five Lotto Plus 5 draws starting on Thursday - so your Lotto Plus 5 draw days will be Thursday, Friday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. If you then purchase a Lotto ticket for the following Saturday draw and 'Plus 5' those numbers, you will be entered in the five Lotto Plus 5 draws starting on Sunday - so your Lotto Plus 5 draw days will be Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. This will mean that on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday you will have two sets of Lotto Plus 5 numbers entered into the same draw.
If you have used the same Lotto numbers for both your Wednesday and Saturday Lotto draws, then you will have identical Lotto Plus 5 numbers entered into the three Lotto Plus 5 draws where the overlap occurs. So if you win a prize, you will win twice! If you have chosen different Lotto numbers for the Wednesday and Saturday Lotto draws, you will still have two sets of Lotto Plus 5 numbers entered on those three overlapping days, but they will be different sets of Lotto Plus 5 numbers, so you could win different prizes with each line.
Back to topI have a valid multiple week Lotto ticket that was bought prior to the Lotto Plus 5 launch, can I now add Lotto Plus 5 to that ticket?
No - as the Lotto Plus 5 game is only available to purchase from Thursday 10th February. However, Lotto Plus 5 can be included on all new purchases of Lotto from now on, excluding Continuous Direct Debit and multiple tickets.
Back to topCan Lotto Plus 5 be played via a Continuous Direct Debit?
Lotto Plus 5 will not initially be able to be played via a Continuous Direct Debit - although it may be introduced at a later date.
Back to topWhy is Lotto Plus 5 not available via Direct Debit?
We continually look at ways in which we can ensure that we're offering the best possible service to our players. As the majority of our players play in store or buy their tickets online on a weekly basis, we are ensuring we satisfy this demand first. We will then explore the possibility of extending the game's availability to other payment methods in due course.
Back to topCan I play more than seven lines of Lotto Plus 5 at a time using the add more lines function?
You will not initially be able to use the add more lines function if you choose to Plus 5 your Lotto numbers. However, you can purchase one play slip (up to seven lines) of Lotto, with Lotto Plus 5 at one time. To play additional lines of Lotto Plus 5 with Lotto you will need to purchase more tickets.
Back to topCan I play Lotto Plus 5 without playing Lotto?
No - you can only enter Lotto Plus 5 if you are playing one or more lines of Lotto. A line of Lotto is required per Lotto Plus 5 entry.
Back to topWhat are the odds of winning Lotto Plus 5?
Each Lotto Plus 5 purchase will be entered into five individual draws. The overall odds of winning a prize across all five Lotto Plus 5 draws are 1 in 11.
The overall odds of winning a Lotto Plus 5 prize in any one draw are 1 in 54.
More information on how prizes are calculated.
Back to topAre the Lotto Plus 5 draws televised?
No. However, the daily draw results will be available on our website, in the Results section of our app for iPhone® and at any of our National Lottery retail outlets, as well as in some newspapers. The results will also be announced during the Saturday night BBC draw show.
Back to topSo will there still be a live draw?
No. The draws will be made in the presence of an independent adjudicator using an Automated Draw Machine (ADM) sited in a secure location - and will be subject to the same levels of integrity and scrutiny as all other National Lottery draws.
Back to topWhat is an ADM?
Automated Draw Machines (ADMs) have been used in the UK for many years - for example, ERNIE (Premium Bonds) works on a similar basis. We also use an ADM to draw the UK Millionaire Raffle selection. In the case of Lotto Plus 5, the ADM will select a random set of six main numbers and one bonus number between 1 and 49 for each draw.
Back to topHow do we know the selection drawn is random?
As with all of our draw machines, the ADM is rigorously tested - both by Camelot and independently (by the Statistical Analysis Department at the University of Hertfordshire) - with information shared with the National Lottery Commission. Camelot has obtained the appropriate verification for The National Lottery from the University of Hertfordshire.
Back to topWhat happens when I play my last numbers again?
If you select the option to 'play your last numbers', this will re-populate your play slip with your most recent number selections for Lotto and any Lotto Plus 5 selections. This option offers the convenience of not having to re-enter the same numbers each time you visit the site. You still need to choose the number of weeks and draws you want to play for and then select 'Play' when you are happy with the details. And you also still have the opportunity to amend, add or delete any of the information before confirming your purchase. We strongly recommend that with all National Lottery purchases, you check all information on your tickets at the 'point of purchase confirmation' before proceeding.
