LOTTO PLUS 5
This section sets out the Game Procedures for the Lotto Plus 5 Game played in retail.
The odds of winning a Prize in any Lotto Plus 5 Draw are approximately 1 in 54. The odds of winning any Prize across all five Lotto Plus 5 Draws are approximately 1 in 11.
Lotto Plus 5 gives you the chance to enter your Lotto Selections into five individual Lotto Plus 5 Draws (which take place on non-Lotto Draw days) for £1. The Lotto Plus 5 Draws you are entered into will be those following the main Lotto Draw you have chosen to play. If your Lotto Ticket is for a Saturday Draw, you will be entered into Lotto Plus 5 Draws starting on Sunday. If your Lotto Ticket is for a Wednesday Draw, you will be entered into Lotto Plus 5 Draws starting on Thursday. If you are buying Lotto Tickets for both Saturday and Wednesday Draws, you will be entered into the Lotto Plus 5 Draws from the day after the first Lotto Draw has taken place.
To play Lotto Plus 5 you must play Lotto in the same Transaction. Only players who have entered their Lotto Selection into Lotto Plus 5 will be able to win a Lotto Plus 5 Prize. Your Lotto Plus 5 Entry will appear on your Lotto Ticket, along with details of the Lotto and Lotto Plus 5 Draws you are entered into.
If you choose to play Lotto for more than one week at a time and choose to enter Lotto Plus 5, you will be entered into both Games for the same number of weeks.
How do I win?
If your Lotto Plus 5 Entry matches three or more of the first six numbers randomly chosen in a Lotto Plus 5 Draw (the 'Main Numbers'), you will win a Prize in the highest relevant Prize category, subject to the Rules and this Players' Guide.
| Prize Categories | Approximate Odds of Winning in each Draw | Prize (subject to Prize capping, explained below) |
|---|---|---|
| 'Lotto Plus 5 Match 6' = six numbers in one Lotto Plus 5 Entry matched to the Main Numbers | 1:13,983,816 | £250,000 |
| 'Lotto Plus 5 Match 5 + Bonus' = five numbers in one Lotto Plus 5 Entry matched from the Main Numbers and remaining number in that Entry matched to the Bonus Number* | 1:2,330,636 | £25,000 |
| 'Lotto Plus 5 Match 5' = five numbers in one Lotto Plus 5 Entry matched from the Main Numbers | 1:55,492 | £250 |
| 'Lotto Plus 5 Match 4' = four numbers in one Lotto Plus 5 Entry matched from the Main Numbers | 1:1,033 | £25 |
| 'Lotto Plus 5 Match 3' = three numbers in one Lotto Plus 5 Entry matched from the Main Numbers | 1:57 | £2.50 |
| Any Prize | 1:54 |
* The Bonus Number is the number randomly selected immediately after the Main Numbers have been drawn.
On average, 50% of Lotto Plus 5 sales will be available to be paid out in Prizes to players. Due to the fixed Prize nature of this game, there is no rollover of any Prize monies if the top Prize is not won.
Will Prizes ever be less than stated (Prize capping)?
All Prizes in a Lotto Plus 5 Draw will be paid in full unless Prize capping takes place. Prize capping will take place in very rare circumstances and only if the total value of Lotto Plus 5 Prizes payable in a Lotto Plus 5 Draw is more than five times the total value of Entries in that Lotto Plus 5 Draw. If Prize capping takes place, a calculation will be made to identify which Prize categories will be affected (meaning that Prizes in that Prize category cannot be paid in full). This calculation will divide the total value of Entries in that Lotto Plus 5 Draw by the odds of winning in a Lotto Plus 5 Draw for each Prize category. The number produced by this calculation will then be divided by 0.101452* to produce a figure (the 'Calculated Number'). If the number of Prizes in any Prize category is greater than the Calculated Number for that Prize category, the Prize category will be capped. The reduced Prize amount payable will be calculated as set out in the next section.
* The figure 0.101452 represents the Prize payment percentage for the Plus 5 Game of 50.726%, divided by the Prize cap value of 500%.
What happens if Prize capping takes place?
If Prize capping takes place, the total amount of funds available for Prizes across all Prize categories will be five times the total value of Entries in that Lotto Plus 5 Draw.
If only one Prize category must be capped, the value of Prizes in uncapped Prize categories will be set aside and the remainder of the funds will be divided equally between the winning Entries in the capped Prize category. If more than one Prize category must be capped, after the value of Prizes in uncapped Prize categories has been set aside, the remainder of the funds will be divided between the capped Prize categories in proportion to the total value of Prizes that would have been won in each of those Prize categories if capping had not occurred. The resulting amount in each capped Prize category will be divided equally between the winning Entries in that capped Prize category. Prizes in Prize categories which are not capped will be paid in full.
