Camelot and Responsible Play
Camelot has run the UK National Lottery since it was founded in 1994. Our aim is to maximise returns to the Good Causes in a socially responsible way. It is only by winning the trust of players and society at large that we can raise as much for the Good Causes as possible. That means running The National Lottery with integrity; developing new games and new ways to play that encourage millions of players to spend small amounts, while, at the same time, protecting vulnerable players and preventing underage play. We also strive to raise awareness of problem gaming, as well as supporting winners through what can be a life-changing experience.
We are keen that you play The National Lottery responsibly. Camelot has devised strategies to prevent both underage play and excessive play. If you're concerned about playing too much, call GamCare on 0845 6 000 133. You must be 16 years of age or over to play any National Lottery game or claim a prize. Retailers are obliged to establish safeguards sufficient to ensure that they do not sell to under-16s. If you suspect a retailer may be selling tickets to under-16s please call our special hotline to report this - 0345 3016216.
