Go ON Give an Hour
Here at The National Lottery we have been transforming lives for the better since 1994 and we are now part of the big campaign, Go ON Give an Hour which aims to transform many more lives.
What is Go ON Give an Hour?
8.7 million people in the UK have never been online. They've never made a Skype call to a loved-one, looked at family pictures on Facebook, or saved lots of money by doing the shopping online.
On 30th October the clocks go back and everyone in the UK has an extra hour. Imagine if the 30 million people who use the internet everyday use this hour to transform someone's life by helping them get online...?
How do I give an hour?
If you love being online and know someone who isn't, or have a bit more time on your hands and would love to volunteer, you could make a big difference.
You don't need to be an IT whizz to give an hour either. Just show someone how they can use the web to explore their hobbies and interests. And if the person you're helping needs more time or knowledge than you can give, there are plenty of places where they can get free or low-cost support.
What do I do next?
Whether you've just decided to help someone get online, or been doing this for a while, the first step is to pledge your hour to make this campaign a big success.
By pledging you'll get access to free tools and tips, local information on events and low cost courses for internet beginners, and regular updates on what people like you have been up to.
So Go ON. Pledge an hour of your time now. www.go-on.co.uk/giveanhour
