How to play and win

Each Play has its own Play Number - this can be found on the Game outcome screen once the Game has been finished, in the “My Games” section of Your Account if You bought the Play via Your Account, and in the confirmation email sent to You if You bought the Play via Pingit.

At the start of a Play, You are presented with a Game Play Window displaying a board consisting of 49 squares numbered 1 through to 49 (with numbers in some squares being hidden) (the 'Board'). A square may either be blank or may contain: a) a witch's cat, a grave stone, a cauldron, a pumpkin, a monster, a skull, a ghost, a witch's hat, a bat, a potion, a pitchfork, a spell book and a cob web (the 'Symbols'), b) a monetary amount (the 'Instant Prize'), c) part of a staircase, d) a trap door and/or part of a set of footprints, e) a Mini Game symbol or f) a trick or treat symbol (the 'Trick or Treat'). A female character (the 'Counter') will be displayed at the bottom left of the Board on square 1.

To the top right of the Game Play Window are five rows, each with a different number of Symbols shown in yellow silhouette and a prize amount to the right of each row (the 'Prize Table'). Below the Prize Table are two dice with the instruction: 8 ROLLS LEFT (the 'Goes Left Indicator'). To the bottom right of the Game Play Window two rows are displayed, one with three staircases silhouetted in yellow and one with three sets of footprints silhouetted in yellow, and each with a monetary amount to the right of each row (the 'Bonus Table').

To the bottom left of the Game Play Window is the instruction: 'ROLL THE DICE TO SEARCH THE SPOOKY HOUSE. COLLECT CREEPY SYMBOLS, LAND ON INSTANT PRIZES, CLIMB UP STAIRS OR DOWN TRAP DOORS TO WIN.'

To commence a Play, You must select the dice. On doing so, the dice will move into the foreground; roll and land back down displaying the number of squares the Counter must move. At the same time the Goes Left Indicator will decrease by one and, as the Counter moves across the Board, the pips on the dice will turn green to indicate the number of squares the Counter is moving. After the Counter has moved, the pips will turn red again to indicate that the dice are clickable. If after a period of time You have not selected anything, the moon behind the dice will animate to indicate that You must select the dice to continue.

On landing on a square, that square will turn yellow (and will stay yellow for the duration of the Game to show that You have landed on it) and one of the following will happen:

a) On landing on a blank square, nothing will happen and You must then select the dice again to continue the Play.

b) On landing on a Symbol, that Symbol will populate all of the corresponding yellow silhouettes in the Prize Table. If You complete a row in the Prize Table, that row will flash and the prize amount for that row will animate for the remainder of the Game to indicate that You have won that amount.

c) On landing on an Instant Prize, that Instant Prize square will animate for the duration of the Game, to indicate that You have won that Instant Prize amount.

d) On landing on the bottom part of a staircase, the Counter will move to the square at the top of the staircase, collect anything that may be on the square the Counter has landed on after moving up the staircase, and then one of the yellow staircase silhouettes (the 'Stairs') in the Bonus Table will be populated. If You complete all three Stairs silhouettes in the Bonus Table by landing on three different staircases on the Board, then that row will flash and the prize amount will animate to indicate that You have won that amount.

e) On landing on a trap door and the top part of a set of footprints, the trapdoor will turn black to indicate that it has opened and the Counter will move to the square at the bottom of the footprints, collect anything that may be on the square the Counter has landed on after moving down the footsteps, and one of the yellow footprint silhouettes (the 'Trap Door') in the Bonus Table will be populated. If You populate all three Trap Doors in the Bonus Table by landing on three different trap doors on the Board, then that row will flash and the prize amount will animate to indicate that You have won that amount.

f) On landing on a Trick or Treat, a new overlay will open and a message will be displayed, confirming what You have collected, if anything, and instructing You to click 'CONTINUE', to continue to the main Game. On returning to the main Game, one of the following will happen:

- On collecting a NO WIN, You collect nothing and must select the dice to continue Your Play.

- On collecting one of the Symbols, the corresponding Symbols in the Prize Table will be populated. The Symbol will also be displayed on the Trick or Treat square for the duration of the Game.

- On collecting Stairs or a Trap Door, the Stairs or Trap Door will populate the first available corresponding yellow silhouette in the Bonus Table. The Stairs or Trap Door will be displayed on the Trick or Treat square for the duration of the Game.

- On collecting an Instant Prize, the amount will be displayed on the Trick or Treat square for the duration of the Game and will animate to indicate that You have won this amount.

- On finding an EXTRA TURN motif, a '+1' motif will appear next to the Goes Left Indicator to indicate that you have an extra turn and an EXTRA TURN motif will display on the Trick or Treat square for the duration of the Game. On clicking on the dice, the '+1' motif will disappear to indicate that the extra go has been taken.

g) On landing on a Mini Game symbol, one of the following Mini Games will appear in a new Game Play Window:

Spooky Spiders Mini Game

On revealing this Mini Game, You are presented with 3 spiders. To the bottom of the new Game Play Window is a Prize motif and above this the instruction: 'CHOOSE A SPIDER, FIND THE LONGEST SPIDER THREAD TO WIN PRIZE.'

To commence a Play, You must select any one of the spiders or Prize motif. On selecting the Prize motif, either one of the Symbols, Stairs, a Trap Door, an Instant Prize, an EXTRA TURN motif, or a NO WIN motif will be revealed. If You select the Prize Motif first, You must then select one of the spiders. If You select the spider first, the Prize motif will automatically reveal. On selecting one of the spiders, the chosen spider will be highlighted and the spiders will drop to reveal which one has the longest thread. Once all three spiders have stopped to show which spider had the longest thread and the Prize motif has been revealed, a message will appear where the instruction was, indicating what Prize You have collected, if any, and a 'CONTINUE' button will appear to the top of the Game Play Window, which will flash to indicate that You must select it in order to continue to the main Game.

On returning to the main Game, one of the following will happen:

- On collecting a NO WIN, You collect nothing and must then select the dice to continue Your play.

- On collecting one of the Symbols, the corresponding Symbols in the Prize Table will be populated. The Symbol will also be displayed on the Mini Game square for the duration of the Game.

- On collecting Stairs or a Trap Door, the Stairs or Trap Door will populate the first available corresponding yellow silhouette in the Bonus Table. The Stairs or Trap Door will be displayed on the Mini Game square for the duration of the Game.

- On collecting an Instant Prize, the amount will be displayed on the Mini Game square for the duration of the Game and will animate to indicate that You have won this amount.

- On collecting an EXTRA TURN motif, a '+1' motif will appear next to the Goes Left Indicator to indicate that You have an extra turn and an EXTRA TURN motif will display on the Mini Game square for the duration of the Game. On clicking on the dice, the '+1' motif will disappear to indicate that the extra go has been taken.

Apple Bobbing Mini Game

On revealing this Mini Game, You are presented with a cauldron displaying five bobbing apples. To the bottom of the new Game Play Window is a Prize motif and above this the instruction: 'PICK 3 APPLES OUT OF 5, FIND 3 MAGGOTS TO WIN PRIZE.'

To commence a Play, You must select one of the apples or a Prize motif. On selecting the Prize motif, either one of the Symbols, Stairs, a Trap Door, an Instant Prize, or an EXTRA TURN motif, or a NO WIN motif will be revealed. On selecting on an apple, it will turn over to reveal either an empty bite mark or a bite mark with a maggot. If You have selected three apples but not revealed the Prize, this will reveal automatically. Once all three apples and the Prize motif have been revealed, a message will appear where the instruction was, indicating what Prize You have collected, if anything, and a 'CONTINUE' button will appear to the top of the Game Play Window, which will flash to indicate that You must select this in order to continue to the main Game. On returning to the main Game one of the actions described in the Spooky Spiders Mini Game above will happen.

Haunted Pictures Mini Game

On revealing this Mini Game, You are presented with three spooky portraits and to the bottom of the new Game Play Window the instruction: 'CHOOSE 1 OF THE 3 PORTRAITS, COLLECT WHAT IS HIDDEN BEHIND.'

To commence a Play, You must select one of the portraits. On doing so, the chosen portrait will reveal either one of the Symbols, Stairs, a Trap Door, an Instant Prize, an EXTRA TURN motif or a NO WIN motif. A message will then appear where the instruction was, indicating what Prize You have collected, if any, and a 'CONTINUE' button will appear to the bottom of the Game Play Window, which will flash to indicate that the Player must select it in order to continue to the main Game. On returning to the main Game one of the actions described in the Spooky Spiders Mini Game above will happen.

Your Play ends when You have exhausted all Your rolls. A message will appear to the right of the Game Play window indicating the amount You have won, if any, and instructing You to click FINISH to complete the Game.

If You have bought a Play of this Game and have completed a row in the Prize Table, and/or completed a row in the Bonus Table, and/or landed on an Instant Prize, and/or revealed an Instant Prize in a Mini Game, You will, providing the requirements of these Rules and the Procedures are met, be entitled to a prize as detailed in the prize table below.
