Camelot and responsible play
Camelot has run The UK National Lottery since it was launched in 1994. Camelot’s aim is to maximise returns to National Lottery Projects in a socially responsible way. It is only by winning and maintaining the trust of players and society at large that we can raise as much money for National Lottery Projects as possible. That means running The National Lottery with integrity, encouraging responsible play, protecting our players, preventing underage play and promoting and supporting National Lottery Projects.
We endeavour to encourage millions of players to spend small amounts while, at the same time, protecting our players and supporting our winners during what can be a life-changing experience. We also strive to minimise the impact we have on the environment and maximise the benefit that our business and employees bring to our community.
If you would like to find out a little more about the work that is done to ensure that the impacts of The National Lottery are positive for our community and environment, please see our Corporate Responsibility report at www.playingourpart.com. Camelot wants all of its players to enjoy National Lottery games responsibly and has created strategies to prevent both underage and excessive play. If you’re concerned that you are playing too much, call GamCare on 0808 8020 133. Players must be 16 years old or over to buy or play any National Lottery game or claim a Prize. It is illegal for Retailers to sell National Lottery products to persons under the age of 16 and Retailers are required to establish safeguards to ensure that they do not do this. If you suspect a Retailer may be selling tickets to under 16s, please call 03453 016 216 to report this.
