Get a FREE** cinema ticket with Lotto

The National Lottery Cinema Day is our chance to thank you for the massive contribution you make to UK films and film culture.

That’s why we’ve got more than 500,000 free cinema tickets up for grabs.** To get yours, you’ll need to buy a Lotto Double Prize Event ticket (in-store, online or via the National Lottery app) which is taking place on Saturday 24th August 2019. You’ll also need to pre-book your spot at www.cinemaday.co.uk. Tickets are subject to availability and provided on a first come, first served basis. Seats can be booked from Wednesday 21st August 2019 ahead of the big day on Sunday 25th August 2019.

You’ll be able to see a film at a range of independent local cinemas as well as at Odeon, Empire and Picturehouse. Cinemas in BFI’s Film Audience Network are also taking part in the fun, with screenings available across the UK.

National Lottery funding plays a huge role in UK film, from production through to training. Projects like the BFI Film Academy create opportunities for all, matching bright young production talent with some of the biggest film producers in the world.

Aspiring filmmakers like Maria Moss, who earned a place working on 'Solo: A Star Wars Story', have benefited from the skills the Film Academy teaches. Maria said, "The BFI and LucasFilm did a partnership and I managed to land a role in the Assistant Director's department. I just couldn't believe I got it; it’s the biggest thing I've ever done and to tell people that Star Wars was my first job in film… I just wanted to call everybody!"

So thanks for playing Lotto, and enjoy the show!
