500,000th National Lottery award for family support charity

Thanks to you, a small community project is able to help more families help themselves.

Ipswich 4 Family, who are the 500,000th National Lottery funded project, reach out to disadvantaged families, offering practical and emotional support through 1–1 mentoring. Their £9,950 award will help the team train more family mentors and so grow the charity. In fact, 90% of our awards are under £10,000 and this is just another example of how a relatively small sum can go a long way.

By playing The National Lottery, you’ve helped support projects that may never have survived and thrived. Karen Bradley, Culture Secretary was at Ipswich 4 Family to mark the occasion, and presented the cheque to Dot Cordle, Chair of the Trustees, saying:

“The 500,000th Lottery grant is a significant milestone, and the latest example of how the proceeds from people buying tickets has helped transform lives and support local communities across the country.”

The National Lottery has been changing the lives of winners and supporting good causes across the UK since 1994. In that time, there have been more than 7,000 new millionaires created and by playing The National Lottery you raise over £4 million for Good Causes every dayΔ.
