Life changing

Robin Cavendish broke out of hospital and started a new life

Severely affected by polio at 28, Robin Cavendish was given less than a year to live. Instead of accepting his fate and seeing out his days in hospital he was inspired to get out and live his life.

Robin not only took back control of his life, defying the medical experts’ predictions about his future, but he also helped dozens of others in a similar position by creating a new type of wheelchair that contained medical equipment to help them breathe.

His remarkable story was told by his son Jonathan Cavendish in the National Lottery-funded movie Breathe.

Watch Jonathan tell the story of his dad’s amazing life.
