Celebrating the UK’s favourite Lottery funded projects

We went behind the scenes at this year’s National Lottery Awards to give you a sneak peek at some of the famous faces and people whose lives have been changed thanks to Lottery funding.

The National Lottery Awards is an annual search to find the UK's favourite Lottery funded projects. Just by playing The National Lottery you raise £30 million each week for projects all across the UK and the Awards highlight how that funding has changed the UK for the better.

Now in its 13th year, the Awards recognise the incredible difference Lottery funded projects have made to people, places and communities all across the UK. They also celebrate the talent, hard work and amazing dedication of the people involved in running them.

Awards are given across seven categories, reflecting the different types of projects that benefit from National Lottery funding. These are: Art, Education, Environment, Health, Heritage, Sport and Charity/Voluntary.

If you missed the show on BBC One on Monday night, you can catch up on BBC iPlayer.

The National Lottery has been changing the lives of winners and supporting good causes across the UK since 1994. In that time, there have been more than 7,000 new millionaires created and by playing The National Lottery you raise over £4 million for Good Causes every dayΔ.
