Life changing

Thanks to you, Samantha Kinghorn is going for gold in Rio

When it comes to wheelchair racing, 20 year old Samantha Kinghorn isn’t one for going in circles. The inspirational Scot is determined to beat the best in the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games and claim gold for Great Britain.

In December 2010 Samantha Kinghorn was crushed by snow and ice, breaking her back. She had emergency surgery and spent five months in hospital. The injury to her spine left her paralysed from the waist down.

But with your help and support Samantha is now representing ParalympicGB in Rio. Here Samantha tells us how National Lottery funding helped her on her way.

You’ve supported over 300 Paralympians as they prepare for Rio 2016 and beyond. By playing The National Lottery you give them access to world class coaching, training facilities and medical support, as well as the ability to train full time – so you’re part of the team too!

The National Lottery has been changing the lives of winners and supporting good causes across the UK since 1994. In that time, there have been more than 7,000 new millionaires created and by playing The National Lottery you raise over £4 million for Good Causes every dayΔ.
