Life changing

An amazing change of fortune

Stephen Cole checked his ticket online expecting to see a small win but instead was greeted by a “magnificent £286,532” staring back at him. Stephen said “I could pretend I coolly took it all in my stride but in fact, I couldn’t do anything and simply sat there giggling!”

A self-confessed optimist, Stephen may have a positive outlook on life, but he’s been through his fair share of challenges over the past few years. In 2016 he was collecting his teenage kids from school when he was involved in a serious car accident.

He faced a lengthy recovery but was determined to carry on running his successful software development business. “I’ve always worked hard growing my businesses so we are comfortable, but the win is still fabulous news and means we will enjoy a few family adventures much sooner than planned. Top of the bill is a holiday to Barbados.”

And it’s not just holidays Stephen is looking forward to – he’s a keen golfer and is hoping to get back on the course soon. “After the accident I was wheelchair-bound for some time, at risk of never walking again. Now I’m back on two feet I have started going to the driving range and while a full round is still some way off, once I’m ready, membership to a decent golf club is beckoning!”

Stephen had matched five numbers and one Lucky Star using a Lucky Dip in the EuroMillions draw on Friday 12th July. He had opted to buy his ticket online and got emailed about his win without the need to check his numbers.
