Scottish syndicate over the moon with £99Thousand win

A lucky syndicate of staff from an engineering firm in the Scottish Highlands have good cause to celebrate this month, having scooped £99,307.90 on EuroMillions.

Checking their tickets at the local Co-op is a ritual 59-year-old Eileen Logan has been carrying out for the past 15 years, but this time was very different.

“My recent visit was really unexpected. The shop assistant handed me back our winning ticket saying it was too big to pay out,” said Eileen.

“I took the ticket home and immediately checked the numbers on The National Lottery website. I sat staring at the screen for ages before it sunk in.”

Eileen shares the win with 13 others at Ross-shire Engineering in Muir of Ord. And the company’s boss couldn’t be more pleased for them. Although Eileen told us he admitted he was glad it wasn’t a much bigger amount, otherwise he’d be losing a lot of his workforce.

The first thing the group did to celebrate was to have a drink together at their local pub. From exotic holidays to a new motorbike, there was no shortage of ideas on how each one of them may spend their windfall.
