Second slice of luck for Market Drayton pie syndicate

A syndicate of workers from a pie factory in Market Drayton have just dished up their second major EuroMillions win.

Nearly ten years ago a group of 33 at the factory shared a whopping £6.7Million EuroMillions prize. Now five of that same syndicate are part of the 25 strong group who've banked a stunning £303,465.20 prize again on EuroMillions.

Syndicate leader Mary Viggers, who was one of the original five winners, said,

"I feel very lucky! I can't believe that lightning has struck twice. Some of the same members, the same department, the same room even…it's just unbelievable."

Each member of the current syndicate is looking forward to tucking into their slice, worth £12,138.60. Back in November 2006, the 33-strong syndicate celebrated with £204,553.89 each.

The new winning group are a mixture of factory operatives, supervisors and managers in the Make 3 department who make pies at the Palethorpe factory. Word spread quickly across the factory that Department Make, Shift B had won for a second time, and when Mary and her colleagues went back to work people wanted to touch them to see if the luck would rub off on them.

Mary said, "I can't believe it's the same department, room everything. What are the chances of that? We are the talk of the factory and now the town. People want to touch me, rub my shoulder…it’s just like last time."

The syndicate are now looking forward to spending their winnings. The shopping list includes driving lessons, cars, a deposit on a house and three-piece suite. The group haven't had time to organise a celebration but will do when they next all have a day off.

The National Lottery has been changing the lives of winners and supporting good causes across the UK since 1994. In that time, there have been more than 7,000 new millionaires created and by playing The National Lottery you raise over £4 million for Good Causes every dayΔ.
