Lotto jackpot winner of £26Million claims prize

One lucky ticket-holder matched all six numbers in the Lotto draw on Wednesday (19th October) to bank an amazing £26M – the fourth biggest Lotto prize ever. The ticket has been validated and the prize has now been paid. The ticket–holder has chosen to remain anonymous and therefore no further details will be released.

This year has seen a multi-millionaire making frenzy from Lotto. The biggest ever Lotto winners were created in April when an anonymous player banked £35Million. In January two ticket-holders, one of which was David and Carol Martin from Hawick, walked away with £33Million each. They were followed by Gerry and Lisa Cannings from Peterborough who won £32Million in February.

This jackpot presents the winner a pop star sized fortune. According to The Sunday Times Rich List Jessie J has amassed £16Million, Ellie Goulding £17Million and Sam Smith is worth £20Million The ticket–holder is just short of a boy band fortune with each member of One Direction worth an astonishing £33Million.
