Photographer plans picture perfect future with lotto win
Holidays, cars and cameras are on the shopping list of a South Wales couple after a fantastic Lotto win. Snap-happy Jeff Barnsley, and his wife Irene, banked a life changing £891,294 Lotto jackpot.
The couple from Tredegar in South Wales have already treated their family to new cars and are now planning a luxury holiday for the whole family. Jeff, who is General Secretary at the Tredegar Camera Club where he has been a member for 25 years, is also looking forward to splashing out on new lens of three.
Jeff described how he slowly realised he had won when out shopping. "The shop assistant explained she had never had to tell anyone before, but I would have to phone Camelot about my ticket."
"I went back to Irene in the car and was so shocked. I told her I had matched six numbers. She just wouldn’t believe me and was convinced I was teasing her."
"When we went home after shopping, it began to register with me just how much we may have won and I told Irene she may need a brandy. She then phoned our son and daughter, who came over and we were laughing and celebrating until the early hours."
The retired couple – who have two grown up children and seven grandchildren – have already bought various cars for family members, but Jeff is excited about his new photography gear. He said, "Photography is my passion and I've now been able to go a little more up market with upgrading some of my cameras!"
