£12.9Million Lotto jackpot rolls down to boost prizes for thousands of winners

The January blues have well and truly been banished for tens of thousands of Lotto players across the UK who won even bigger prizes after no-one won the £12.9Million jackpot in the year’s first ‘Must Be Won’ Lotto draw (30th January).

Instead of winning just £30, an incredible 88,347 players scooped an amazing £138 for matching just three numbers.

One lucky ticket-holder matched five numbers and the Bonus Ball and saw their prize boosted from £1Million to £1,388,525 while 43 ticket-holders who matched five main numbers are now a winter blues-busting £19,820 better off. The 3,767 players who matched just four numbers are now also £724 richer.

As no-one matched the six main numbers to win the jackpot, the prize rolled down and was shared by all cash winners so that they won an even bigger prize.

Check your tickets

All Lotto players are urged to check their tickets and emails to see if they have won an even bigger prize. The winning numbers in the Lotto draw on Wednesday 30th January were 7, 22, 31, 43, 47, 58 and the Bonus Ball number was 2. See the full draw results here.

Andy Carter, Senior Winners’ Advisor at The National Lottery said, “What a winter-warming boost for the thousands of players who matched just three numbers – they would normally take home £30 but they are now £138 better off! Lots of people have won much more across the board and we’re now urging players all across the country to take a couple of minutes to check their tickets and claim their prizes.”

A great start to the year

Earlier this month a Lotto jackpot of £9.3Million was claimed by one lucky player. In an incredible draw on Saturday 8 December, seven millionaires were created in one night – two lucky ticket-holders shared the jackpot to each win just over £3.8Million, and five ticket-holders also won £1Million each by matching five main numbers and the Bonus Ball.
