Scratchcard winner Elfriede Bliss

Lucky Kettering woman cleans up with £100k win

Kettering factory cleaner Elfriede Bliss is celebrating after scooping the £100,000 top prize on a Triple Payout National Lottery Scratchcard.

Elfriede initially thought she’d only won £100, but was jumping for joy she realised she had in fact won an amazing £100,000. Despite the life-changing win, hardworking Elfriede is refusing to hang up her mop and plans to continue her job as a cleaner.

She said, “I love my job and I’m very lucky to be surrounded by so many friendly people.”

Elfriede, who lives with her husband Peter, was paying her newspaper bill when she decided to have a go on a scratchcard.

It still hasn’t really sunk in yet. I’m going to keep on working, treat ourselves but keep my feet firmly on the ground.

She said: “I won £6 on the first scratchcard so decided to use the winnings to buy three Triple Payout scratchcards. I took them home and scratched them in the living room. I thought I’d won £100, but kept scratching and then saw another symbol, then another! I was trying to keep calm checking and double checking the ticket, Peter just couldn’t stop laughing.
