Life changing
Monopoly Scratchcard winners Mark and Carmel Cousins

Life-changing win means first foreign holiday on the cards for Warrington family

Sun, sea and sand are calling a Warrington family after a life-changing Scratchcard win. Mark and Carmel Cousins and their five children will jet off for the first time after banking £100,000 on the Monopoly Scratchcard.

Mark, a school maintenance officer, says the win just doesn't seem real. "We are so happy and the news is still sinking in. We can't quite believe that we've won and it means we can do several things that we'd only ever dreamed of doing before, including our first family holiday abroad!"

They are also looking forward to extending their family home, which will allow for the four children living at home to each have their own bedroom.

Talking about the win Mark said, "We were shopping one evening and we decided to get a Scratchcard, my wife scratched it in the car on the way home.”

Carmel thought it was a winner so they stopped at the nearest shop to check, "When the lady there passed it back to me and said to call Camelot, we just couldn't believe it!"

Family man Mark then called The National Lottery. "When we rang and got confirmation of the win we were both in tears, it was just a fantastic feeling. We can now very excited to be able to book the holiday of a lifetime. The children are ecstatic and cannot wait to go on a plane for the first time.

"Things like this just don’t happen to people like us, we feel so lucky, this really is life changing for our whole family."

The National Lottery has been changing the lives of winners and supporting good causes across the UK since 1994. In that time, there have been more than 7,000 new millionaires created and by playing The National Lottery you raise over £4 million for Good Causes every dayΔ.
