Tetris win builds brighter future for Chingford man
A lucky man from Chingford will turn blocks into bricks with a £80,000 win on The National Lottery Tetris Scratchcard. He plans to splash out on a London property he could only have dreamed of owning.
Part-time shop assistant, Can Yildiz, saw his Tetris ‘blocks’ fall into place on the scratchcard he only decided to play for a bit of fun.
“I decided to buy and play a Scratchcard for a little bit of excitement, I had no idea how exciting it would turn out to be!”
Can continued, “I felt like my luck was in but when I started to play the Tetris scratchcard I didn't win anything on the first five games, it was only when I reached the sixth game on the scratchcard and saw that I had three matching symbols I knew I’d won. I didn't check the size of the win until I had finished the game and I guess I thought it would be £2. When I revealed that it was an £80,000 top prize I was completely stunned.”
Can is busy making plans for his future although he is treating himself to one frivolous purchase. He said, “Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would ever be on the London property ladder, let alone in my twenties. Now, thanks to that moment of fun, I can start looking for a place in the local area and put that ‘wildest dream’ into action. While the vast majority of the money is going to that house, I'm an avid gamer so I will be buying myself a new game console too.”
