Enjoying Set For Life win is plain sailing for Joanne

Hartlepool’s Joanne Jobson has capped off her first incredible year as a Set For Life winner with a private cruise on one of the UK’s most picturesque lakes.

The cruise on Lake Windermere with her sister and niece was the final item on a wish list Joanne jotted down immediately after winning the top Set For Life prize of £10,000 every month for 30 years. She has already ticked off other items on the list including: a holiday in Spain, a hot tub, a personal trainer, a trip to London to see Mamma Mia! and her first pieces of diamond jewellery.

Joanne said, “In the first year since my win I have done things I could only ever previously have dreamt about doing. And today, taking in the amazing scenery around the Lake District with the people who are closest to me, has been the perfect finale to an incredible year.

“It is something I have always wanted to do and talked about arranging, but never actually got round to doing it. But now, thanks to my Set For Life win, yet another dream has become a reality.

“Having my own private skipper and boat – with afternoon tea and champagne on board – is a day I will never forget.”

Other highlights of Joanne’s first year as a Set For Life winner include: moving into a new home, going to the top of The Shard in London, taking her two sisters to a hot-air balloon festival in Turkey, going shopping in New York and paying for her mum and a friend to take a city break.

Joanne is looking forward to drawing up a new wish list and creating more special memories in the months to come. She’s planning a luxury holiday to Thailand, a trip to see indie rockers Kaiser Chiefs and generous gifts for her nearest and dearest.

Joanne added, “The places I’ve been, things I’ve bought and memories I’ve been able to make every single month have just been incredible. And the fact I have this to look forward to for the next 29 years is quite surreal.”
