Meet August’s scorching winners
The UK enjoyed some amazing weather in August, but also some scorching new wins.
August’s Lotto winners include David and Shelley Adams from Chipping Norton (pictured above), who are now planning what to buy after their 1:30am discovery of their amazing win. This couple are determined to plan their purchases carefully, with a car on the list along with a lovely-sounding holiday. Read their story.
We also got the chance to meet Corey, from County Tyrone, whose journey to winning £250,000 started with socially-distanced drinks at a friend’s house and ended with him revealing the top prize on his Scratchcard. He told us about how he plans to spend the money, and you can meet Corey here.
Corey wasn’t the only lucky scratcher in August. Miss H from Caerphilly County also revealed a £100,000 prize on MONOPOLY Gold Classic and has plans for a new car.
Mum-of-eight Sue Davies is also celebrating her August win. She scored the top prize on Thunderball using the birthdays of family members. Sue’s looking for a new home that’s better suited to her needs after some recent health problems. Read read her full story.
We’re also raising a virtual glass for Mr R from Surrey, who’s enjoying £10,000 every month for a year after his Set For Life win. He’s planning on putting the money towards his mortgage.
This month was also a chance for us to ask Brits about how lockdown has changed their attitude to work. Our survey found that 42% of people are considering a post-lockdown career change. Popular choices include working in the medical profession (23%) and teaching (11%).
