Lotto Rolldown Update - November 2020
An exciting change is coming to Lotto from Saturday 7th November, and it’s great news for thousands of players!
As you may be aware, currently whenever there’s a Lotto Must Be Won draw and no one wins the jackpot by matching 6 main numbers, there’s a Rolldown. This means the jackpot is shared across all other cash prize tiers where players match 3 or more main numbers, so thousands win boosted cash prizes.
However, from Saturday 7th November 2020, winners matching 2 main numbers will now benefit from a Lotto Rolldown too, and will win a cash prize of £5 in addition to their usual free Lotto Lucky Dip®. This means that ALL winners can expect to win a share of the jackpot in a Lotto Must Be Won Rolldown!^
The first Lotto draw when this could happen is on Saturday 7th November, where there will be a special £20Million Must Be Won draw. Make sure you have a ticket to be in with a chance to win the jackpot, or a boosted cash prize in the Rolldown.

What is changing with the Rolldown?
An enhancement has been made so that in the event of no one matching all 6 main numbers in a Lotto Must Be Won Draw:
- The jackpot will be used to pay all Match 2 prize winners in that draw a £5 cash prize in addition to their usual Lotto Lucky Dip®.
- The remaining jackpot will be shared across all other cash prize tiers in line with the Lotto Game Procedures.
- This will mean ALL PRIZE TIERS from Match 2 to Match 5 plus the Bonus Ball can expect to receive a boost to their prize.

Why are you changing the game?
As the operator of The National Lottery, our job at Camelot is to grow sales in a socially-responsible way to ensure that we deliver as much money as possible for Good Causes. To help us do that, we regularly review our products to ensure that we’re continuing to offer a balanced and appealing range of distinct games that offers something for everyone.
The Lotto Rolldown feature has proven popular with our players since it was added in November 2018, with millions of players benefiting from boosted prizes in these Rolldowns. But we’re always looking at ways to make our games even better, and one thing that Match 2 winners were regularly telling us was that they wanted a share of the jackpot too. So, from Saturday 7th November, when we have a Rolldown, everyone could scoop a share. As well as their free Lucky Dip, Match 2 winners will win £5.
This update to Lotto will mean that, on average, 1.1 million** players matching 2 main numbers in a Lotto Rolldown will also experience the excitement of a boosted prize and share of the jackpot.
**based on the average number of Match 2 prize winners in Lotto Must Be Won Rolldowns between November 2018 and July 2020.

I have matched 2 main numbers in a Lotto draw and have received 2 emails each saying I have won a prize or free Lucky Dip, does this mean I have won a cash prize or a Lucky Dip or both?
You've won both – because there was a Lotto Rolldown, you've won a £5 cash prize for matching 2 numbers, plus your usual free Lucky Dip ticket.
You would have received one email with news about your winning ticket, which asked you to log in to your account to check your winning ticket(s). You would then have received a second email confirming your free Lucky Dip has been entered into the following draw.
When you sign into your account and click through to my account/my messages, you will be able to see both prizes detailed.
