Life changing

The mother of all surprises for one community hero

Back in the late ‘90s, a young Steadman Scott and his friend Tony were determined to find a way to change the lives of local disadvantaged people through sport. They founded the Brixton-based community project, Afewee Training Academy, a boxing and football centre in the area of South London the pair call home.

Since the first session in a Crystal Palace park, the National Lottery funded academy has made a huge difference to the community – and even has a few amateur boxing champs to its name. However, in all that time Steadman Scott hadn’t seen his amazing mum. That was until he got the surprise of his life when we flew her over as part of The National Lottery’s ‘Big Surprise’ on ITV.

Watch the film below to see Steadman experience the mother of all surprises…

The National Lottery has been changing the lives of winners and supporting good causes across the UK since 1994. In that time, there have been more than 7,000 new millionaires created and by playing The National Lottery you raise over £4 million for Good Causes every dayΔ.
