Life changing

Watch Sophie's Story for some heavyweight inspiration

Athletes' parents spend on average £6,200 a year helping their child fulfil their potential. Every year, some of our best young athletes are dropping out because of the cost of sport. Thanks to you, £5.5 million of lottery funding over four years will go to help hundreds of youngsters like Sophie so they can continue to train #BackingTheBest

You've also helped the Smalls and hundreds of families like them

The Smalls are from East Belfast. Their youngest child Victoria, two, has a rare neurological condition called Joubert syndrome. This affects an area of the brain which controls balance and coordination. It can also cause retinal problems and as a result Victoria is severely sight impaired. Thanks to a share in over £6 million of funding, Guide Dogs NI, can continue to offer the critical advice and support so crucial for visually impaired children like Victoria.

And your support has stretched from the big screen…

You've helped bring blockbuster period drama 'Brooklyn' to cinemas around the UK. Julie Walters leads an all-star cast in the film which is already a big hit with critics and public alike.

To the countryside

The unique beauty of County Fermanagh's lakelands is just one of 13 of the UK's most distinctive landscapes to benefit from a £31 million investment.

And £1.2 million is now supporting community schemes focusing on the mini beasts such as beetles and bees threatened by habitat loss.

Thank you. You've done all this and so much more, just in the past few weeks.

And since the National Lottery began, you've supported over 450,000 projects across the UK and raised over £34 billion.

The National Lottery has been changing the lives of winners and supporting good causes across the UK since 1994. In that time, there have been more than 7,000 new millionaires created and by playing The National Lottery you raise over £4 million for Good Causes every dayΔ.
