EquATA is a small Lottery funded charity based just outside Kettering which uses the healing powers of horses to help children on the autistic spectrum and people with mental health issues.
Located in remote woodland, EquATA uses the natural environment, specially selected horses and a qualified team to provide tailored therapy sessions
In the past six years the charity has worked with over 950 families. The project is unique in offering therapy sessions for the whole family where one, or more, of the children may have autism and/or ADHD. And the results are astounding - children, who previously found it impossible to communicate, can now interact with their family and teachers.
‘National Lottery funding has been vital to our success,’ says Jo Hawkins, Co-founder of EquATA. All made possible by just buying a ticket.
