Good Causes

Sarah is one of Sage Gateshead’s inspirational young artists

On the banks of the River Tyne, in Newcastle, is Sage Gateshead. It’s a live music venue and arts centre, but it’s also a place where people like artist-in-residence Sarah Fisher says she can develop confidence in her speech and leadership.

Sarah, who has Cerebral Palsy, isn’t just improving her own skills though. She teaches workshops at Sage, helping others to develop as artists and she also tours the UK as a musician.

Sage Gateshead won this year’s National Lottery Award for Arts, Culture and Film and Sarah’s story is just one of the many amazing things to come out of the centre. Watch the film below to see some of the other great stories.
