David and the Steelkings get big surprise from Paralympian

When David Scivill was in a motor accident, he became paralysed from the waist down. Feeling isolated and alone, he shut himself away, until he stumbled across the Sheffield Steelkings - a Para Ice Hockey Club.

The National Lottery funded Sheffield Steelkings squad enables people with any lower body disabilities or impairments to play a fast-paced, physical team sport, whilst improving their mental health. Players have amputations, paraplegia, spina bifida and cerebral palsy as well as post-traumatic stress disorder, so taking part in mainstream sport is not always possible.

Watch the video above to discover how the Steelkings helped David to find a new purpose in life and find out why Paralympian Jonnie Peacock popped in to surprise them.
