Grimsby’s Calum and Kayleigh reel in £1Million EuroMillions prize
A couple from Grimsby, a port town once synonymous with the fishing industry, have landed an amazing catch: a £1Million prize on the EuroMillions UK Millionaire Maker draw.
Calum Forrington and his wife, Kayleigh, were shocked to learn the EuroMillions ticket for the 17th June 2022 draw he bought on The National Lottery App had made them millionaires.
Calum, 37, said, “I’d played the EuroMillions on the Friday, choosing to play as a one-off with my own ticket. It wasn’t until the following morning when I was eating my cereal before work that I remembered to check my online account.
“I was in complete shock when I scrolled down and saw my EuroMillions ticket was a winner... we both completely freaked out and I had to go outside to get some air!
“Still in complete shock, I went into work and told my boss what had happened – he must’ve realised I was unlikely to get any work done that day so sent me home to sort everything out and try to get my head around it all.”
Calum and Kayleigh admit they spent the weekend after their win in something of a daze. But Calum has decided to learn how to drive and the couple are both eyeing up a new car.
A special family holiday to Disneyland with their 3 children is also on the cards this summer and there are plans to celebrate the couple’s first wedding anniversary in Rome in September.
