Greece is the word after Norfolk’s Paul nets £1Million prize
When Paul Harvey’s son got home from school his father asked him an unusual question: “How many millionaires do you know?”
The 51-year-old from Attleborough in Norfolk admits it “felt like forever” waiting for his teenage kids to come home so he could tell them he’d landed a £1Million EuroMillions prize. But the wait was worthwhile. Paul used his phone to capture the magical moment he told his son the news that had them both laughing hysterically and jumping with joy.
Paul said, “Both their reactions were hilarious and heart-warming. We all feel ridiculously excited. It just doesn't seem real!”
Top of Paul’s wish list now he’s a National Lottery millionaire, is taking his kids on a family holiday to Greece. As a young man he lived in Cyprus for 12 years and can speak fluent Greek. He said, “I can’t wait to show off to the kids!”
There’s a chance Paul might make a permanent move to the sunshine at some point, but for now he’s taking things one step at a time. He said, “This win gives us so many more options, but I want to take my time and do it right.”
Paul won his incredible prize by matching the unique raffle code in the EuroMillions Millionaire Maker draw. Instead of matching numbers on the main draw, each ticket is given a unique code which is entered into a raffle, with a top prize of £1Million.
The proud father says his kids are his priority and he wants to focus on helping them as they near the end of their full-time education. He said, “I am so proud of what they have achieved already in life. They both have big ideas about what they want to do when they leave school, and I cannot wait to help them in their chosen careers.”
Part of that is helping them learn to drive and getting behind the wheel of their own car. Paul said, “My daughter has a driving test later this year and I would love to get her a second-hand Fiat 500 for her to practice in.”
