Sheffield man cleans up with EuroMillions win

Andrew Perkins, A 25-year-old domestic assistant for the NHS, has cleaned up after winning £1,150,000.

Andrew added a shine to his future plans as he won on EuroMillions Mega Friday and chose to take his entire prize as cash.

The life-long Sheffield Wednesday fan couldn’t believe he had won and checked and double checked his winning ticket.

He said: "I first checked my numbers and then my raffle code, I couldn’t believe my eyes when it was a perfect match!"

After triple checking his numbers, Andrew asked his fiancé Christina Maher to make sure his eyes weren’t playing tricks on him. "She entered the code in to the online checker and a congratulations message popped up on the screen. We both were speechless," Andrew said.

Andrew will be able to get his foot on the property ladder with his win safely in the bank. The keen photographer is also planning to buy accessorises for his camera, book a trip to Canada, which will be his first foreign holiday, and secure a Sheffield Wednesday season ticket.

He said: "The win has given me peace of mind. I feel now that I don’t really have to worry about money."
