Les and Dee Scadding help us celebrate 25 years of winners

Les Scadding won £45.5 million on EuroMillions in 2009 but he says that the best prize of all was meeting Dee.

She was a local estate agent in Usk when Les spotted her through the window and popped in to arrange house viewings just to talk to her. He explained, “She took me to the first house, which I had no interest in buying, and we stood in the kitchen just talking for hours. I think I fell in love with her then.”

Eighteen months later and the couple arranged a trip around the world. The final destination was Barbados, which Dee had never visited before, but was to end up being their new home.

In 2017, having moved to Barbados, Les and Dee invited 10 friends out to dinner to celebrate Les’ birthday at one of their favourite beachside restaurants. The guests arrived to discover Dee in a white gown and a minister at the ready.

Les said, “Our ‘surprise’ wedding ended with a sunset cruise on a catamaran and it was the best day of my life.”
