There’s magic in the air this Christmas after £1Million win

Stephen, 54, and Lesley Schiltz, 55, are celebrating a £1Million EuroMillions win just in time for Christmas.

The couple, who recently moved to the Swansea Valley town of Pontardawe, are loving their new home and local community. Stephen said, “There is definitely a bit of magic in the air as things have been looking up since we’ve moved, and this big win definitely proves that!”

Stephen discovered the win after hearing someone was £1Million richer on the radio. He wished it was him, but then didn't think about it again until he was in the pub with friends later that day. He said, “My friends told me I should check my ticket, so I scanned the code on my phone and it came up. I didn’t believe it at first, so I ran to the shop and they checked my ticket. The ticket machine then dinged and that’s when I knew. I went home and told Lesley ‘I think I won £1 million’ – she thought I was joking!”

Stephen and Lesley are already planning what to do with their win and while they have got this year’s Christmas presents sorted, they’ll be treating their children and grandchildren to make the festive period even more special.

The couple are also planning a trip to Australia, something that’s now possible thanks to the win. Stephen said, “Lesley has family there and we’ve always said we wanted to go. I would like to go for six weeks but Lesley says ‘no’, because she still works.”

Stephen’s also got exciting plans for his career. Having recently retired as a lorry driver he’s now keen to use some of his win to invest in a business with his brother-in-law.
