Life changing

Former Chelsea star wins £5.5M Lotto jackpot

A former professional footballer has hit the back of the net with a massive £5.5M Lotto win. Terry Bradbury and his wife Ann say the life-changing win has made them the happiest they have ever been.

Terry, a wing half, played for Chelsea between 1957 and 1962 before moving to Southend United, Leyton Orient, Wrexham and Chester. He never took home the multi-million pound salaries of today’s Chelsea stars, earning a maximum of £25 a week during his career.

Terry, who also played for England as a school boy, said “The news really is still sinking in. We still can’t quite believe it.”

The couple are planning to spend some of their winnings on a villa in Spain – their favourite holiday destination – and where they both lived for almost six years. The grandparents are also looking forward to using their Lucky Dip win to treat their four sons and families.

Ann said, “The villa will be a place where our family can always go to for holidays. Looking after our sons and our nine grandchildren is something which is a priority for both of us. It is wonderful to think that none of our children will have a mortgage or any stress for the rest of their lives. This win provides our family with security and this is what pleases Terry and myself more than anything.”

Ann and Terry play Lotto every week and normally play with the same numbers but decided last Saturday to change their numbers to a Lucky Dip. Terry revealed, “We just felt like a change so threw two Lucky Dip lines on – and we are so glad we did.

“We will definitely be continuing to play Lotto – and will probably stick with Lucky Dips too!”

The National Lottery has been changing the lives of winners and supporting good causes across the UK since 1994. In that time, there have been more than 7,000 new millionaires created and by playing The National Lottery you raise over £4 million for Good Causes every dayΔ.
