Driving dream to come true
A mother-of-three from York is planning to make her dream to drive come true after winning a life-changing £100,000 on The National Lottery's £100,000 Rainbow Scratchcard.
Kelly Topping, who lives in Easingwold is planning to embark on a series of driving lessons with her new-found wealth, as well as investing in a new set of wheels.
She said, “Since the age of 17, I've always wanted to be able to drive, but just haven't been able to afford lessons. So this is the very first thing on my list, followed by a new set of wheels. It will give us so much more freedom as at the moment we rely on public transport a lot.”

Kelly, who has bought the same Scratchcard every week for the past year, said, “I've had some smaller wins of up to £150 which were very nice, but this amount of money is beyond my wildest dreams and I'm still in shock! I absent-mindedly scratched the panel, not really paying too much attention to it, but saw that I'd matched the first few numbers. Thinking I'd won £10, I took a closer look and realised that I'd actually revealed three lots of £100,000! I suddenly lost the plot a little bit and had to ask a friend if I was right. She gave me a hug and said ‘Yes, it looks like you've won!’”
Shell-shocked at her good fortune, an ecstatic Kelly called her husband Kevin, to share her news.
Kevin, who is a cleaning manager, said, “This has just given us all a massive boost. As well as getting Kelly mobile with her new car and driving lessons, we also want to take the children on their first holiday abroad as we haven’t been able to afford one before. With Christmas around the corner we’ll be treating the whole family – it's going to be the best one yet!”
