Suzy’s game to travel thanks to Set For Life win

The 44-year-old from Wakefield is a keen gamer and has met 2 buddies online who live in Texas and Canada. Now, after matching the 5 main numbers in the Set For Life draw on 1st August 2022, she is planning to meet them face-to-face.

Suzy said, “I love gaming online and I have met two lovely friends in Canada and Texas through this. We play all of the time and have been for the last 5 years, but we have never actually met. Now I cannot wait to fly out and meet them both.”

Recounting her incredible win, Suzy said she bought her ticket the weekend before the draw as she had spare funds in her National Lottery account. She said, “I wasn’t really feeling my normal numbers so I decided to play numbers which I felt were lucky for me and close to my heart, such as birthdays and favourite numbers. This certainly worked!”

Suzy didn’t check her emails and National Lottery account until 2 days after the draw. When she did, she could barely believe her eyes.

Her partner of 25 years initially thought she was joking when she said she thought she had won The National Lottery. She said, “I was sitting on the bed with the laptop on my knee and my dog next to me and I just kept saying … ‘I have won something’! ‘I think we have...actually, no, we REALLY have’! And then I shouted … ‘Dreams really do come true!’”

Suzy’s win coincided with the heatwave, so her first purchase was practical: an air conditioning unit for her home. She said, “What perfect timing for me! I will always remember this amazing win arriving in time to keep me super cool in our record British summer!”
