Watch the moment Laura learns she’s won Set For Life

It is just over a year since Laura Hoyle called The National Lottery to confirm she had won the top prize on the Set For Life game. But the 40-year-old from Nottingham can still recall every second of the momentous conversation.

Laura said, “I was physically shaking as I told the lady, ‘I think I’ve won the lottery!’ It was so weird saying those words. I kept thinking this must be a joke.”

It wasn’t a joke of course. Laura and her partner Kirk Stevens, 38, really had won the top prize of £10,000 every month for 30 years.

Luckily, Kirk had the presence of mind to record Laura’s phone call on his phone. Now you can watch the emotional video for yourself.

Laura said, “As I waited for The National Lottery to call me back, I still had to join work meetings online. I could hardly speak, let alone make any sense!”

Since their amazing win on the Set For Life draw held on the 1st March 2021, the couple have been coming to terms with an event they described as “surreal”. A trip to Disneyland Paris is planned and they’re as enthusiastic as ever about their shared passion for the paranormal.

Laura said, “Kirk and I are participating in lots of paranormal activities and I’m editing the videos we take which I absolutely love doing. I’m getting better and better at editing and the other month one of our videos was voted by a top ghost hunting YouTuber, one of his videos of the week.”
