Get a free taste of powerful UK film ‘Lollipop

Lollipop’, the new drama by British filmmaker Daisy-May Hudson, is a deeply moving story about a mum battling the system for custody of her children. The Guardian described it as “a powerful, vehement testimony”.

You’ve got the opportunity to get free tickets to a sneak preview of this powerful film thanks to BFI Escapes. Escapes, an initiative supported by the BFI (awarding National Lottery funding), is designed to encourage everyone to discover independent cinema.

You can claim your free tickets to ‘Lollipop’ here. Screenings are happening across the UK on Monday 2nd June and Tuesday 3rd June 2025.

Lollipop’ features an all-female cast and a powerhouse performance from Posy Sterling (‘The Outrun’). She plays Molly, a single mum, who gets out of prison to find her mother has handed her two young children over to social services.

The film also features some incredible performances by ‘non-actors’, notably Idil Ahmed as Amina, Molly’s only friend and her ally in the fight to reclaim her children.

The film’s producers describe ‘Lollipop’ as a drama “about our capacity for joy even in life’s hardest moments, about finding strength through sisterhood and what it means to have the unwavering courage to fight for your family.”
