Brass Band’s performance takes us back in time
1994. The National Lottery began, the Channel Tunnel opened and Whigfield had a number one hit with Saturday Night.
Also making history was the Morecambe Brass Band, which became one of the first-ever projects to receive National Lottery funding. The band is still going strong today – and we set them one of their biggest challenges ever…watch this film to see what happened.
Since 1994 more than £8.6 million has been distributed to more than 500 brass bands and over 2,200 grants have been awarded to music groups for new instruments.
