Tears of joy for community carer Bee after £300Thousand win
A community carer and avid sewer from Bilston said it all went ‘a bit crazy’ after winning the £300,000 top prize on The National Lottery’s Lucky Numbers Scratchcard.
On a whim, Bianca (known as Bee) Murton bought a Scratchcard after popping to the local shop for a drink and was astonished to see she had won £300,000.
The 31-year-old said, “I looked, looked again and couldn’t believe what I was staring at, so much so that I started to shake. I asked my partner to look at it and he wasn’t 100% sure so he then called his dad to check it for me. After many checks and double-checks, it really did look like I had won and then I just started to cry.”
After barely sleeping that night – she was ‘buzzing’ – Bee decided the most important thing to do with the win ‘would be to treat the family.’
Bee has worked throughout the pandemic as a community carer helping people in their own homes and although the role has been particularly challenging this last year, Bee has found her calling and plans to study for her NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care.
Bee said, “To see the smiles on people’s faces when you visit them in their homes makes you feel so good. You are part of their lives, so it feels great to be doing a job that helps people.”
When not working, Bee turns into a ‘Great British Sewing Bee’, enjoying arts and crafts and making clothes for herself and her son’s teddy bears.
Bee said, “It’s something I really enjoy doing and, especially in the last year during these crazy times, it’s given me another focus away from work. It gives me a great sense of satisfaction seeing what I’m able to create.”
