November brings fireworks as 39 players become millionaires

November kicks off with fireworks displays up and down the country, so it was fitting that the month also provided plenty of National Lottery ‘sparklers’. A whole bunch of our players scored blazing Autumn wins.

As temperatures began to fall, the number of big wins headed skywards like a rocket (the big one you keep to the very end of the display). In fact, an incredible 39 new National Lottery millionaires were created in November.

The number 13 may be regarded as unlucky by some, but it’s unlikely our 13 new Lotto millionaires feel that way.

We met David Lawrence, a retired day services officer for Surrey County Council, who was over the moon after landing a £1Million Lotto prize. The 67-year-old is passionate about helping others and plans to use some of his winnings to build a 3-hole crazy golf course in the back garden of his soon-to-be Leatherhead home. David will make the course available to young adults with mental health and social care needs who he believes will really benefit from the activity. Find out some of the other ways David is ‘putt-ing’ others first here.

Lotto also came up trumps for Reading grandparents Graham and Caroline Parris, who landed an incredible £1.2Million prize. The couple, both 65, celebrated by taking a trip to Weymouth, the seaside town where they enjoyed their first romantic getaway 44 years earlier. You can read more about their holiday and their exciting plans for life as millionaires here.

EuroMillions went full steam ahead in November, making a total of 17 UK millionaires. We met Welsh mum Ceri Ann Roscoe-Roberts who told us about the ‘Friday feeling’ that prompted her to buy a ticket. Thank heavens she did! The 42-year-old from Bangor was one of 10 millionaires made in a single night by a special EuroMillions draw. Read Ceri's story here.

Near the end of the month – the 28th November to be precise – another lucky player won a cool £1Million top prize on EuroMillions HotPicks.

Meanwhile, Set For Life got in on the Autumn action as 3 very lucky players each won the game’s top prize of £10,000 every month for 30 years. No less than 12 other players each won Set For Life prizes of £10,000 every month for a year. Now, that’s living.

November was a very special month for a pair of our Thunderball players who each won the top prize of £500,000.

Instant Win Games also served up plenty of action. Two players each won prizes of £1Million, while two others won £300,000 and £100,000 respectively.

What about Scratchcards, I hear you ask? Well, 2 lucky players each scratched off prizes of £1Million, and a third player won an incredible £1.2Million prize. How’s that for a ‘banger’?
