Bury dad becomes king of the road after EuroMillions win
A father of three from Bury is planning for a life in the fast lane after scooping £247,513.70 on EuroMillions. Andrew Nabb, 33, said the win will also make a massive difference to his quality of life – enabling him to treat his three children, two sons and a daughter, to a family holiday to Tenerife.
The single dad said that the win couldn’t have come at a better time – having been in and out of jobs for the past year – and he could now finally learn to drive and buy himself a car.
“This is just fantastic – and totally life changing. Not only is it life changing for me – it is life changing for my family too. I am really looking forward to going on a holiday abroad with my three children. The win will also enable me to pay for driving lessons and buy a car too – something I never believed I would be able to do.”
Andrew won with a Lucky Dip ticket, after matching five numbers and one Lucky Star. He checked his ticket purely by chance after popping into his local shop. As the cashier checked the ticket the machine made a noise and she told him to call Camelot.
“I just thought there must have been a mistake. I immediately rushed home and phoned Camelot and the lady on the end of the phone broke the best news of my life to me that I had won almost a quarter of a million pounds."
“I had to ask her to keep repeating herself – I just kept thinking this cannot be true – this cannot happen to me! I didn’t know whether to scream with excitement or burst into tears. It just seemed so surreal.”
Making life easier
Andrew, a steel fitter, previously worked as an electrical engineer for over 16 years before leaving last year. “The win will just make life so much easier for me in so many ways."
“I’ve already passed my driving theory test and I’ve been saving up to pay for my driving lessons. Now with this win, I’ll finally be able to get behind the wheel of a car. And then hopefully buy my dream car, An Audi A3. I don’t know many people who can say their first ever vehicle will be an Audi! But thanks to The National Lottery mine will be!”
Andrew also has his eyes on a new three bedroom house for himself and his three children. “My kids are my world. I’ll do anything I can to give them a helping hand in life, starting with the perfect home to grow up in.”
He has no intention to stop playing EuroMillions now. “I’ve won once, I can win again. Lightning can strike twice!”
