Never mind Halloween, check out October’s ‘Hallo-wins’
The last day of October saw kids – and quite a few of their parents – dressing up as ghouls and ghosties and offering neighbours a simple choice: trick or treat? Some of our lucky players also got ‘treated’ in October and they didn’t even have to hollow out a pumpkin or wear a skeleton suit!
An incredible 30 new National Lottery millionaires were created in the spookiest month of the year – that’s the equivalent of almost one a day!
A couple of our Lotto players would have felt shivers – in a good way – when they learned they’d won amazing jackpot prizes in October. The first prize of £3.9Million was won in the 7th October draw, while a second Lotto player pocketed a £2Million prize in the 11th October draw.
Lotto made a further 7 millionaires in October. Halloween? More like ‘Hallow-win!’
Meanwhile, EuroMillions provided all sorts of seasonal thrills with 9 UK players becoming millionaires in October. October was a frighteningly good month for Set For Life players. A terrific trio of players each scored the top prize of £10,000 a month for 30 years.
We met James Briggs, 42, and his wife Sally, 40, who told us they were still in shock after confirming they’d won a Set For Life prize of £10,000 a month for a year. The couple didn’t discover their amazing win until 4 weeks after the draw. You can find out why by reading their brilliant story here.
Thunderball rumbled throughout October and 3 very lucky players had their bank accounts ‘bumped in the night’ by the arrival of a £500,000 top prize. The first big Thunderball wins – 2 of them – came courtesy of the 6th October draw. A third Thunderball player picked up another £500,000 prize in the 27th October draw.
Instant Win Games provided plenty of tingles in October with 5 players each winning £1Million prizes and a further 2 winning prizes of £50,000 or more.
And people were scratching off big wins right through October with 4 very lucky players winning £1MMillion or more on a Scratchcard. One lucky player won a £2Million prize, another scored a £1.2Million prize and two more players won £1Million each. Spook-tacular!
